Click on the All menu item or tab to show all the tasks or only the outstanding or completed tasks. This is called the view state. This filter will be relevant to all others views. In other words if you select to view only the outstanding tasks and you go to the Calendar you will only see the outstanding tasks for that day.

You can also specify if the categories, occurrences or priorities should be applied by the view state or not. So for instance if the view state is completed and you have checked the categories checkbox only the completed categories will be shown when switching to the categories tab. If you click on the outstanding radiobox in the all tab and switch back to the categories tab then you will only see the outstanding categories. If you always want to see all the categories then click on the category checkbox to uncheck it. The same goes for Priorities and Occurrences.
